How it works

Three steps. Your voice, your citations, your tracking.

Setup takes 30 minutes. The first post is ready the same day. Here is how the whole process works, in plain terms.

47% of brands lack any GEO strategy at all. (Digital Applied, Jan 2026) Most service businesses are not competing for AI citations yet. The window to build an early lead is narrow. Source: Digital Applied, January 2026
01

Train your voice fingerprint

Upload 8 or more pieces of content you actually wrote: client emails, LinkedIn posts, newsletter issues, proposal sections, an explainer from your website. The platform measures:

  • Average sentence length and variance
  • Formality score (low / medium / high)
  • Technical vocabulary density
  • Explanation structure (verdict first vs. context first)
  • Paragraph length patterns

The output is a voice fingerprint. Every post generated for your account is constrained to match your fingerprint. The content sounds like you because it is measured against your documented writing habits, not because the AI guessed right about your style.

You can create multiple fingerprints: one for technical posts, one for client-facing emails, one for LinkedIn. Switch between them per piece.

02

Generate a citation-scored post

Enter a topic. Use a saved keyword from your library, paste a question a customer just asked you, or describe the decision your prospects face most often. The platform:

  • Structures the post with the answer in the first 80 words (the BLUF format AI engines extract from)
  • Inserts supporting statistics with named sources from our verified industry library and your own saved data
  • Generates FAQPage and HowTo JSON-LD schema in the page head
  • Adds an author bio block with your credentials and Person schema
  • Scores the draft from 0 to 100 on the signals AI engines weight

Above 75 is publish-ready. Below that, the score breakdown tells you exactly what to add: more specificity in a certain section, a missing citation, schema that needs adjustment. You see the gap before the post goes live, not after it fails to get cited.

Princeton research from 2023 found that citing sources and adding statistics improves AI citation visibility by 30 to 40%. The citation score is how we make that finding actionable for every post.

03

Publish and track AI bot activity

Export the post as HTML, push it to WordPress or Webflow via one-click sync (Growth and Scale plans), or copy the clean Markdown to your CMS. Then the tracking starts.

The dashboard shows bot-filtered crawl data from:

  • GPTBot (ChatGPT)
  • PerplexityBot
  • ClaudeBot
  • Google-Extended (AI Overviews)
  • Applebot-Extended and Bytespider (emerging engines)

You see which posts each AI engine has visited, how often, and how recently. This tells you whether your posts are being indexed before you see citation results. A post that has not been crawled cannot be cited. If GPTBot has not visited a post in 30 days, that is a signal to investigate: is the page indexed? Is it behind a login? Is the URL accessible?

Over time, the crawl data shows which posts are getting repeated AI attention, which is an early signal of citation activity before citation tracking tools catch up.

What is happening behind the scenes?

The voice fingerprint and the citation score are the two systems doing the most work. The fingerprint constrains generation to your documented writing patterns. The score validates the output against the structural requirements of AI citation.

Neither system requires you to understand NLP or AI search. You feed in your samples and your topic. The platform handles the technical layer: schema generation, source formatting, answer-structure enforcement, and output validation.

The underlying technical approach does not use a single large model trying to do everything. Different components handle different tasks, and each output is validated before it reaches you. This is the quality discipline from a QA engineering background applied to content generation: catch the failure before it ships.

How long does setup take?

About 30 minutes for the full onboarding: gathering 8 writing samples, filling in a business profile (services, service area, differentiators, credentials), and adding 3 to 5 of your own verified stats if you have them. Your first generated post is typically ready within minutes of completing setup.

What does the output actually look like?

A structured blog post of 900 to 1,500 words, an author bio block, FAQPage schema markup for 5 questions, HowTo schema if applicable, and a citation score breakdown. You also get the raw Markdown, clean HTML, and a LinkedIn-format summary if you want to repurpose the piece immediately.

The post is yours. You own the output. Edit it, publish it, or discard it. We keep a copy in your dashboard for reference and voice profile retraining.

Frequently asked questions

How long does webaicontent take to set up?

About 30 minutes. Paste your writing samples, fill in a short business profile, add any verified stats you have. Your first generated post is ready within minutes of completing setup.

What is a citation score?

A 0 to 100 signal measuring a post against the structural signals AI engines use to decide what to cite. Inputs include answer-format clarity, statistical density, citation count, E-E-A-T signals, schema readiness, and topical authority. Above 75 is publish-ready. Below that, the dashboard flags exactly what is missing.

How many writing samples do I need?

Eight is the minimum for reliable voice matching. Up to 15 is better. Use different writing contexts: client emails, LinkedIn posts, proposal sections, newsletter copy. Do not use agency-written marketing copy. Use content you actually wrote.

What AI engines does webaicontent optimize for?

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews (Gemini), Claude, and Bing Copilot. The structural signals that improve citation likelihood overlap significantly across all engines. The platform addresses the common requirements, with guidance on engine-specific nuances for high-priority queries.

What does the crawl tracking dashboard show?

Bot-filtered log data showing which AI engine crawlers visited each post and when. GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, and Google-Extended. This is different from standard analytics: it filters human visitors and shows only AI engine activity so you can see which posts are being indexed and how frequently.
